Summary Downward trend persisted in cotton price in local as well as international markets.
The price of new cotton reached Rs 7,700 per maund in local markets. The cotton price decreased by Rs 1,100 per maund during the last week, while the price dropped by 25 percent in China, India and the US.According to experts, the decrease in price in local market is due to decrease in export order of fiber.
