Summary Customs clearance at Karachi port has increased after abolition of special excise duty on import.
The boost also owes it to one percent reduction in the GST.Karachi Customs Association President Muhammad Younus Soomro, in a special interview with Dunya News, said customs clearance at the port was next to naught as the importers had preferred putting off clearance till July 01 to benefit from the anticipated relief. However, the Federal Board of Revenue has now announced giving relief from June 20, causing a buzz at the port, he said.
