Summary Pakistan imported petroleum products worth Rs 106b and exported cotton cloth worth Rs 20b in May.
According to a report issued by the Federal Bureau of Statistics, crude oil worth Rs 38 billion, palm oil worth Rs 19.50 billion and plastic material worth Rs 11 billion were imported during May, up 26 percent, 76 percent and 51 percent respectively compared to the corresponding period last year.Net wears worth Rs 17 billion, bed wears worth Rs 16.70 billion and readymade garments worth Rs 15 billion were also exported. Readymade garments export surged by 70 percent and cotton cloth 46 percent compared to the last year’s same period.
