(Web Desk) - Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) has lamented the ‘frequent’ increase in domestic airfares.
FPCCI president Engr Daroo Khan Achakzai and S.M Muneer, the leader of the business community, TDAP former chief executive and former president of the FPCCI have expressed grave concerns on the abrupt hike in airfares on all domestic routes, and have urged Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan to establish a regulatory body to monitor fares and develop an effective mechanism for this purpose.
They elaborated that in the absence of any mechanism, or check and balance to control the fares, the airlines have been arbitrarily increasing airfares on domestic routes.
They added that the exorbitant hike in the fares had badly caused anxiety amongst the commuters particularly the business community who also frequently travel on the domestic route for promotion of trade and industrial activities in the country.
