Government relives itself of Rs 35 billion SBP loan

In view of talks with the International Monetary Fund, the government has paid back a loan of Rs 35 billion to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). According to the SBP statistics, out of the government loans taken by the central bank in the current fiscal year, Rs 7.13 billion are still remaining. About a month ago, the total amount of loans taken from the State Bank was Rs 128 billion. The total amount of government loans taken from the banking sector in the current fiscal year is now up to Rs 353 billion.
