Summary Chicago mayor embarked on a two week visit to China in a bid to attract more Chinese investments.

Chicago Mayor Richard Daley left for China as a part of his China-Chicago Friendship Initiative, in which he would meet with Chinese government and business leaders in Beijing, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Chongqing and Hong Kong. One of the goals of his trip is to learn from Chinas rapidly growing train transit system.Well, presently, we have been tracking a number of investors here, in China, as well as those who have constructed engineering, constructed high speed trains. And we are looking at projects from Ohare Field downtown which may be 20, 25 miles. And it is to be the first of its kind in the nation where you connect in the airport to the downtown heart of the city, which is vital to the economic future, of the airport, our tourists, our businesses, our conventioneers, so thats why we made it high priority, he said.
