Summary Besides local markets, exports are likely to be affected
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Yarn price has hit Rs 11,500 per bag with 16 percent rise in two months, reported Wednesday.
Ready-made garments manufacturers have alleged that a nexus is causing hike in price of 25 kilograms bag of yarn which is resulting in increased cost of production.
On the other hand, importers have to pay ten percent duty tax on yarn. Manufacturers have said that the industry is lagging behind in competition due to unavailability of yarn on reasonable price.
As a result, besides local markets, exports would also be affected, traders said.
