Summary Funds cancellation part of economic reform plans
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A meeting held under the leadership of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday decided to curb the discretionary funds allotted to the Members of Provincial Assemblies (MPAs) and the Members of National Assembly (MNAs), reported Dunya News.
The attendees of the meeting expressed their hope that the two economic reviews held in accordance with the loan program of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will be completed and that there will not be any need to take loan from any international financial organisation in the future.
The government approved an amount of loan worth $6.6 billion from the IMF in 2013 which was provided in installments in return of the fulfillment of the set economic targets.
The government has ensured the IMF of economic reforms through an increase in income tax and curbing of the discretionary funds allotted to MPAs and MNAs for developmental projects.
