KARACHI (Dunya News) – Governor State Bank of Pakistan Ashraf Wathra has directed forex companies to help play their part in valuation of rupee, reports Dunya News.

According to the declaration, Ashraf Wathra said in a meeting with representatives of the exchange companies that despite the abundance of dollars, the recent volatility in the value of rupee cannot be justified. Exchange companies take steps to discourage bookies. He said that if companies are found not complying with the regulations, strict action will be taken against them.

According to the State Bank, foreign exchange reserves have reached a record level of $21 billion.
