Summary Sugar price stands at Rs 53 per Kilogram (Kg)
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Arrival of fresh stock in the market has resulted in sugar price cut by Rs 2 however, the provincial authorities have not yet set the price.
Crushing of sugarcane is ongoing in most of the sugar mills in Sindh. Sugar is being sold at Rs 51 in the markets after Rs 2 cut.
Sugar dealers said that they are purchasing sugarcane yields from farmers on basis of deferred payments. The farmers are awaiting Sindh government’s formal notification regarding set price.

In retail, sugar price stands at Rs 53 per Kilogram (Kg) from the previous Rs 55 per Kilogram (Kg).
In Punjab, the government is done with the process and has set Rs 180 per 40 Kilograms of sugarcane. In Sindh, the farmers have vowed to protest outside the Chief Minister (CM) House once again in case the decision is further deferred.
