The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has allowed increase the tariff of electricity upto Rs1.50 per unit. NEPRA has issued the notification of the increased electricity rates, the new rates would be applicable for the second quarter of the current fiscal year. According to the notification Nepra approved an increase in the range of Rs0.15 to Rs 1.33 per unit for GAPCO consumers.The LESCO consumers would have to pay extra charges in the ranges of Rs 0.05 to Rs 1.50 per unit while QESCO consumers would have to pay extra charges in the range of Rs0.10 to Rs0.75 per unit.
