Summary
In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, usage of petroleum products increased by 11 percent and reached at 14.8 million tons. From July to March, sale of high speed diesel recorded at 55 lac tons, furnace oil at 65 lac tons, petrol 14 lac tons and light diesel sale recorded at 5 lac tons. Due to energy crisis, furnace oil sale increased by 12 percent. Petrol usage increased by 33 percent while jet fuel usage increased by 47 percent.
