The Asian markets succumbed to selling pressure to end on the lower side. The Hang Seng ended at 22,269, weaker by 147 points and the Nikkei slipped 49 points to 10,681. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 1.89 percent, or 61.44 points, to close at 3192.78 points. The Taiwan Weighted dropped 90 points to 8,237, Straits Times shed 15 points at 2,914 and Seoul Composite lost 21 points at 1,683.Samsung Electronics Co. lost 3.3 percent in Seoul as a stronger won countered the companys earnings report. LG Electronics Inc. tumbled 7.6 percent on concern profit at the handset business may miss analyst estimates.
