Asian Development Bank, rejecting the installation of rental power plants in Pakistan to raise the electricity production, stressed the need to increase the capacity of old power plants. ADB Country Director briefed Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen on draft audit report of power plants. Finance Ministers sources said that ADB has asked the government to submit details of agreements of rental power plants. According to the draft audit report, it is asked the government should install only those rental power plants which are cleared by the ADB. The report would be sent to the Finance Ministry next week.
