Summary Euro rose against the dollar Monday ahead of a meeting of the European Central Bank later this week.
The euro rose to $1.3112 in late trading from $1.3072 late Friday.
The ECB is meeting Thursday to set interest rates. Most economists don t expect the central bank to lower its rates.
The dollar also fell against other currencies.
The British pound rose to $1.6107 from $1.6064.
The dollar fell to 87.84 Japanese yen from 88.13 yen, to 0.9216 Swiss franc from 0.9250 Swiss franc and to 98.63 Canadian cents from 98.69 Canadian cents.
