Pakistan, Italy to ink MoU for olive cultivation

Summary Pakistan and Italy have decided to sign a MoU Friday for cultivation of olive in the country.

 

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Italy are all set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding which will help promote olive farming in the country.

 

According to officials, the Memorandum of Understanding will be inked between Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) and Italian government here on November 30.

 

The eminent international Italian experts will also address the scientists’ community of Pakistan.

 

A Memorandum of Understanding between Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) and Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences (LUAWMS) Uthal District Lasbela, Balochistan has also been signed here on November 28, 2012.

 

According to the agreement PARC and LUAWMS, recognising that mutual scientific and technical cooperation will advance the state of science and technology within the country and strengthen the scientific infrastructure and will bring benefits to both sides.

 

The PARC and LUAWMS undertake to pursue a program of scientific technical and academic collaboration for the exchange of ideas, skill and techniques on problems of national interest.

 

Both have agreed that exchange and training of technical personnel and material with no cost for research and academic development. Joint scientific research and technological development programs in selected areas will also be carried out.
