Summary ILO will organize a ceremony to award photographers creating awareness about child labour.
International Labor Organization (ILO) is organizing an award distribution ceremony for work done by photographers to raise awareness about child labor issues in the Country.The award ceremony would be held on October 9, at ILO auditorium, ILO Office Islamabad.EU Ambassador designate to Pakistan, Lars-Gunnar Wigemark would be the chief guest of the ceremony.Heads of various UN organizations working in Pakistan, foreign diplomats, representatives of employers’ and worker’s organization, members of civil society, media personnel and university students, would also be attend the ceremony.According to Mr. Zaheer Arif, Program Officer, ILO in collaboration with the European Union is implementing Combating Abusive Child Labour II Project to support national efforts for elimination of hazardous forms of child labor from Pakistan.Various programmes have been arranged to promote, create awareness on the issue at the National and provincial levels, through the project announced in March 2012, a national Photo competition on the fight against child labour and has encouraged the professionals, students and general public to enter their photographs related to child labor issues in this competition.The event would also have an interesting stage and song performance by children, screening of documentaries by students of Fatima Jinnah and Islamic University, award distribution to winners of the competition, and showcasing of child labor pictures received from across the country.
