Summary The operations targeted Houthi military positions using fighter aircraft, drones, artillery, rocket launchers and sniper units
(Web Desk) - Yemen’s armed forces have claimed that around 950 Houthi fighters were killed and 380 military vehicles were destroyed or disabled during 1,879 operations conducted under ‘Operation Dawn of Yemen’.
According to Arab media reports, Yemeni armed forces spokesperson Colonel Majid Al-Nazili said the operations targeted Houthi military positions using fighter aircraft, drones, artillery, rocket launchers and sniper units.
He said preliminary estimates indicated that approximately 950 Houthi fighters had been killed, while 380 military vehicles, logistical assets and other equipment had been destroyed or rendered inoperable.
According to the spokesperson, the operations disrupted Houthi firing positions and caused disorder in the group’s command-and-control and supply networks.
Al-Nazili said the targets included fortifications, defensive installations, command-and-control centres, artillery and rocket-launcher positions, surveillance and intelligence facilities, reinforcement routes, weapons and ammunition depots, and military transport and logistical assets.
He added that airstrikes in Taiz targeted Houthi reinforcements and fighter units moving towards front lines. The strikes dispersed Houthi gatherings and disrupted efforts to reinforce positions and regroup forces, he claimed.
The spokesperson said the operations had been conducted in accordance with international humanitarian law, with attention to the principles of distinction, proportionality and precaution to protect civilians and civilian property.
He further said military engineering units were clearing restored positions and surrounding areas of landmines and explosive devices to make them safe for the return of military personnel and civilians.
