WAHINGTON (Web Desk) - US President Donald Trump has opposed Israeli control over the occupied West Bank, stressing that long-term stability in the area is vital for Israel’s own security.

A White House official said Trump believes calm in Palestinian territories aligns with Washington’s broader goal of achieving peace in the Middle East.

According to the official, the Trump administration considers stability in the West Bank essential for the success of ongoing peace efforts and regional balance.

Meanwhile, the British government strongly criticized an Israeli cabinet decision to expand control over the West Bank, calling any unilateral change to Palestine’s geography unacceptable and against international law. London urged Israel to immediately reverse such decisions.

Separately, Pakistan and seven other Muslim countries issued a joint condemnation of Israeli actions in the occupied West Bank, warning that these steps accelerate illegal annexation and the displacement of Palestinian people.

The countries called on the international community to act and stop what they termed dangerous measures.
