Summary Rain delayed Day Two at Headingley as England resumed on 112-2, trailing Pakistan by 59 runs after dominant bowling.

LEEDS (Web Desk) - Rain delayed the start of the second day of the first Test between Pakistan and England at Headingley on Thursday, with the ground still wet and under covers.

Although the rain has eased at the ground, a significant amount of water remains on the covers and playing surface, with ground staff working to make the field ready for play.

Weather conditions remain uncertain, with further rain expected, raising the possibility of another delay or a significant reduction in playing time.

England ended the opening day in a strong position at 112 for two after dismissing Pakistan for 171 in their first innings. Ollie Robinson and Josh Tongue claimed five wickets each, finishing with figures of 5-51 and 5-46 respectively.

England therefore trail Pakistan by just 59 runs, with Joe Root unbeaten on 37 and Jordan Cox on 23 at stumps.
