Summary Rain interrupted play after West Indies reached 23-1 on the opening day of the first Test against Pakistan in Trinidad.
TAROUBA (Dunya News) – Rain brought an early halt to play on the opening day of the first Test between Pakistan and the West Indies at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad.
After winning the toss, West Indies elected to bat first and had reached 23 for one when rain forced players off the field.
The hosts lost their first wicket on 13 runs as opener Brandon King was bowled by Mohammad Abbas after scoring 12 runs from 28 deliveries.
Speaking after the toss, Pakistan captain Babar Azam said his side would also have chosen to bat first had it won the toss.
The match also marked the Test debut of Pakistan's 33-year-old left-arm spinner Ali Usman.
