Summary Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari says Maryam Nawaz has launched the second phase of laptop and scholarship schemes, while accusing PTI of worsening KP's security situation.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the second phase of the laptop and scholarship schemes.
She said the future of the country’s children was linked to technology, artificial intelligence and skills, adding that containers, long marches and sit-ins were not the future for young people.
Bokhari said Maryam Nawaz was looking after the educational and social needs of Punjab’s young men and women as she would her own children, which, she claimed, was increasing her popularity among the youth.
She alleged that those threatened by Maryam Nawaz’s popularity and performance repeatedly resorted to personal attacks against her. She added that even those who lectured others on morality and values were driven by hostility towards Maryam Nawaz.
The provincial information minister said Maryam Nawaz had demonstrated her performance through practical measures and was receiving international recognition as a result.
Commenting on the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Bokhari said what she described as an era of “fake change” and hollow slogans had come to an end. She held Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) responsible for the province’s security situation, alleging that the party had prioritised terrorism over national interests and peace in the province.
Bokhari said the Pakistan Army and other security institutions were making sacrifices day and night to eliminate terrorism. She said criticism directed at security institutions at such a time amounted to undermining the morale of the forces.
She added that the Pakistani nation stood alongside its brave security personnel.
