Summary Says Maulana Fazlur Rehman will not get a share in KP govt, accusing him of treating the province as ‘booty’ after PTI rule
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - State Minister Talal Chaudhry has said governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is for a short time, adding the step has been taken to address terrorism and efforts will be made to restore the province’s political setup as soon as possible.
He said Maulana Fazlur Rehman will not be given a share in the government setup of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), accusing him of treating the province as “booty” following the end of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.
Chaudhry alleged that Fazlur Rehman was seeking a share in the provincial setup after PTI lost power. He stressed that the existing arrangement in KP was not designed to distribute power or positions among political figures.
The minister also questioned the need to declare an emergency in the province to extract minerals, suggesting that such measures were unnecessary.
Commenting on security concerns, Chaudhry said political opponents could criticise the government but should not be seen standing with terrorists.
He added that Pakistan’s relevant institutions were responsible for dealing with individuals involved in such activities.
