Summary Eight-member contingent represents 59 Punjab Regiment in international challenge
LONDON (Web Desk) – Pakistan Army has secured a silver medal at Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2026 in Wales, extending its impressive record at the international military competition to five consecutive years of medal-winning performances.
The Pakistani contingent, comprising one officer and seven soldiers from the 59 Punjab Regiment, competed against teams from around the world in the demanding exercise held in the United Kingdom from October 2 to 13. This year’s competition brought together 140 teams from 36 countries, testing participants’ endurance, tactical skills and ability to operate under challenging conditions.
The latest result adds another medal to Pakistan Army’s record at an event widely regarded as one of the toughest military patrolling competitions. Pakistan’s teams won Silver in 2022 and 2023 before securing Gold medals in both 2024 and 2025.
The Cambrian Patrol competition challenges military personnel to demonstrate navigation, physical endurance, teamwork and tactical decision-making during demanding patrols. Teams must operate under pressure while meeting the exercise’s rigorous requirements, making the event an international test of military proficiency.
This year’s competition also featured the Indian Army’s ASSAM Regiment, which secured a gold medal. The Indian contingent competed against more than 100 teams, with its performance placing it among the 10 teams awarded Gold.
