Summary Hotels in Faizabad have reopened until October 2 as security measures remain in place, while public transport services have resumed.
RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Hotels in Rawalpindi's Faizabad, which had remained closed for several days due to security measures following the call for a sit-in, have been allowed to reopen, while Metro, Green Bus and Blue Bus services have also resumed.
Police and district administration have allowed hotels operating within the jurisdiction of New Town Police Station to reopen until October 2.
Security arrangements remain in place along Murree Road in Faizabad in view of the proposed PTI long march, with containers still placed at some locations. However, all routes have been opened to traffic and movement is continuing normally.
The Faizabad bus terminals also remained open, although limited interprovincial transport had affected business activity in the area for several days. Hotel closures and reduced transport had caused a decline in commercial activity, leaving the area relatively deserted.
Business activity has started returning to normal following permission for hotels to reopen. Educational institutions in Rawalpindi also remained open as usual, while Metro, Green Bus and Blue Bus services resumed operations.
