QUETTA, PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Security forces have killed 11 terrorists in fresh intelligence-based operations against militants belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, according to security sources.
Security forces conducted intelligence-based operations in South Waziristan and Bannu districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as well as Sasool area of Khuzdar district in Balochistan.
According to the sources, two terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Bannu. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the site.
Security forces also successfully destroyed the terrorists’ hideout using explosive material during the operation.
In Ladha area of South Waziristan, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation following a tip-off, in which five Khawarij terrorists were killed. Security forces had timely detected the movement of the militants before surrounding them and carrying out an effective operation.
According to security sources, four terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan were killed during an operation in Sasool, Khuzdar district of Balochistan. The terrorists were effectively targeted with the assistance of quadcopters.
Security sources said all necessary measures were taken during the operations to ensure the protection of the lives and property of the public and to prevent any harm to the local population.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for successfully conducting an operation against terrorists in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In separate statements, the president and the prime minister commended the security forces for killing 11 terrorists during the operation.
They reiterated their resolve to completely eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country and ensure lasting peace and stability.
President Zardari said the elimination of terrorists backed by “Fitna al-Hindustan” and “Fitna al-Khawarij” was inevitable to safeguard national security and ensure sustainable peace.
He said the nation took pride in the successes and professional capabilities of the security forces and law enforcement agencies.
