QUETTA (Dunya News) - Two miners lost their lives and four fainted due to poisonous gas in Duki coal mine here on Saturday, according to rescue sources.
Bodies and unconscious workers were shifted to hospital. Rescue sources said the coal mine was shut for a long time, causing accumulation of toxic gas, which later caused the death of the miners on their arrival in the mine.
In July, thirty-four miners had died when a coal mine collapsed after a gas explosion in the suburbs of the Quetta city. Several miners were trapped due to the explosion in the coal mine in Sorange area of Quetta.

Thirty-four bodies have so far been retrieved from the mine. As many as 42 workers were working at the time of the explosion. Earlier, the owner of the coalmine had told the media that the explosion in the mine was caused by methane gas.
