ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The administration of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on Friday issued a statement on the treatment of the jailed former prime minister Imran Khan who was brought to the health facility directly from Adiala Jail late Thursday night.
According to the statement, the PTI founder was brought to PIMS hospital on the intervening night of August 20 and 21, where he was examined by doctors. Two ophthalmologists from Shifa Hospital also examined him.
The statement said experts from PIMS hospital conducted a detailed examination of the PTI founder. A board consisting of PIMS doctors subsequently prepared his medical fitness report.
According to the PIMS administration, the details of the medical report cannot be disclosed in accordance with the Supreme Court’s order.
The PIMS administration said the patient’s confidentiality and the instructions of the Supreme Court would be fully respected, adding that the confidential contents of the medical report would not be disclosed.
