Summary Criticises economic policies, adding JI wants to change existing system
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said Pakistan belongs to its people and a few families cannot rule them, adding JI is making efforts to bring a change in the existing system to empower the grassroots.
Addressing the "Bano Qabil" graduation ceremony under the Al-Khidmat Foundation in the federal capital, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman congratulated all the graduates and said that millions of youth are taking advantage of opportunities and the country has a great human capital, so there is no reason for Pakistan to lag behind.
He said that according to the Constitution, every child should receive free and equal quality education, but millions of children across the country, including Punjab, are out of school while the government education system is being neglected.
The JI emir said separate education systems for the poor and the rich are not acceptable, and that Pakistan's interests can never be compromised, while only the youth can lead Pakistan to the path of development and prosperity.
He claimed that more than 1.6 million youth have registered under the "Bano Qabil" programme and millions have graduated, while Jamaat-e-Islami will also establish a university in the future.
The JI criticised the government's economic policies, saying that the burden of inflation and taxes is being placed on the poor and middle class, and billions of rupees are being paid to certain sectors.
He added if JI comes to power, free education of the same quality will be provided to everyone across the country.
He urged the youth not to be disappointed, to be proud of their country and to play their role in the development and progress of Pakistan.
