PESHAWAR (Dunya News) – Heavy rains, flashfloods and winds claimed three lives and left 16 injured in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.

According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the dead include two children and a woman, while the injured include five men and 11 children.

PDMA officials said that a total of 34 houses were damaged as a result of heavy rains and flashfloods. The affected areas include Khyber, Lower Dir, Mardan, Shangla, Bajaur and Lower Chitral.

On the other hand, the PDMA has issued instructions to the relevant district administration to immediately provide relief supplies to the victims and ensure all possible assistance to the affected families.

A tragic boating accident in Swat has claimed the lives of six people, while one woman remains missing after a family boat overturned at Saifullah Lake on the Swat River.

According to officials, seven members of the same family were travelling in the boat when it capsized, causing all passengers to fall into the water. Rescue teams recovered the bodies of six victims, while efforts continued to locate the missing woman.
