LAHORE (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and briefed him on security situation, particularly in Gilgit-Baltistan ahead of elections scheduled on June 7.
During the meeting, the Interior Minister informed the Prime Minister about the special arrangements made for the protection of lives and property of citizens and security of public places on Eidul Azha.
Mohsin Naqvi also gave a detailed briefing to the Prime Minister on the arrangements and preparations made by the security agencies for peaceful, transparent and orderly conduct of the upcoming elections in Gilgit-Baltistan.
He said a comprehensive security plan has been prepared to maintain law and order during the election process and provide a safe environment for voters.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Interior, law enforcement agencies, and security forces to establish peace and stability in the country and protect the public.
The Prime Minister, while praising the efforts of the Interior Minister and his team for ensuring effective security arrangements for the elections in Gilgit-Baltistan, expressed his resolve that the government would continue to take all possible steps to promote the democratic process and hold transparent elections.
