Summary Henley Passport Index ranked Singapore first, Pakistan 98th, highlighting global travel access gaps based on economic strength and international relations.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The Henley Passport Index has released its latest global rankings, placing Singapore once again at the top as the world’s most powerful passport.

According to the report, Singaporean citizens can travel visa-free to 192 countries, the highest level of global mobility.

Japan, South Korea and United Arab Emirates jointly hold second place, offering access to 187 destinations without a visa.

Norway and Switzerland also rank highly, with visa-free access to 185 countries.

The report noted that European nations dominate passport strength rankings, with European Union countries averaging access to 183 destinations.

At the lower end, Afghanistan ranked last, with visa-free access to only 23 countries, followed by Syria and Iraq.

Pakistan ranked 98th, making it the fourth weakest passport globally, with access to 31 countries without a prior visa.

Experts say passport strength reflects a country’s economic stability and international relations, while weaker rankings are often linked to political instability, conflict and migration trends.

Countries offering visa-free access to Pakistani citizens include Barbados, Dominica, Gambia, Trinidad and Tobago, Haiti and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Visa-on-arrival facilities are available in destinations such as Maldives, Qatar, Nepal, Rwanda, Cambodia, Madagascar and Mozambique.

Meanwhile, electronic travel authorisation systems have been introduced by countries like Kenya, Seychelles, Sri Lanka and Azerbaijan.

Travellers are advised to meet entry requirements, including a valid passport, return ticket, proof of funds and accommodation, while some regions may require vaccination certificates such as for polio or yellow fever.
