LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Lahore High Court has conditionally suspended the Rs5 million damages imposed on singer Meesha Shafi in a defamation case filed by Ali Zafar.
Justice Ahmad Nadeem Arshad heard Meesha Shafi’s appeal, where her counsel Advocate Saqib Jillani appeared before the court. The court, however, rejected the request to completely suspend the trial court’s verdict.
During the hearing, Justice Ahmad Nadeem Arshad remarked that the trial court had restrained Meesha Shafi from repeating allegations of sexual harassment, and that part of the decision could not be suspended. He added that no one can be allowed to level such allegations.
