Key militant arrested: Fitna al-Khawarij network exposed in major confession

Summary Amir Sohail revealed that the centers of Fitna al-Khawarij in Afghanistan were supported by the Afghan Taliban.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Security forces have arrested Amir Sohail, alias Maulvi Haider, a key leader of Fitna al-Khawarij, who has made important revelations during interrogation.

Amir Sohail said in his statement that he joined Fitna al-Khawarij due to misleading propaganda against Pakistan and then received terrorist training at the Fitna al-Khawarij center in the Afghan province of Paktika.

In his confession, he revealed that the centers of Fitna al-Khawarij in Afghanistan were supported by the Afghan Taliban, and that there were close ties with terrorist organizations like ISIS and Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.

He stated that his operational unit consisted of more than 20 militants, including Afghan nationals, and alleged that funding was provided from Afghanistan as well as foreign intelligence sources, including Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

Aamir Sohail admitted involvement in attacks on security forces in areas including Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Mianwali.

He also stated that the Fitna al-Khawarij has nothing to do with Islam and jihad, they commit terrorism for money.

According to officials, Aamir Sohail was arrested by law enforcement agencies while traveling to Peshawar for medical treatment.
