Summary President Masoud Pezeshkian praised Pakistan’s effective and responsible role in peace efforts

TEHRAN (Dunya News) - Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Thursday held a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during his official visit to Iran.

President Masoud Pezeshkian praised Pakistan’s effective and responsible role in peace efforts. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi were also present at the meeting.



The meeting touched upon issues such as the ceasefire between the US and Iran and the signing of a peace agreement. Both leaders also exchanged views on the second phase of the Islamabad talks.


He said Pakistan’s role in stopping the war was commendable and thanked the State of Pakistan for facilitating the ceasefire. He also expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s hospitality during the Islamabad negotiations and hosting the Iranian delegation.



President Pezeshkian stated that Iran seeks peace and stability in the region, adding that unity of the Muslim Ummah would prevent the realization of the goals of the “Zionist regime.”
