Security forces neutralise drone attacks in three KP districts

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistani security forces have thwarted attempted drone attacks in Abbottabad, Swabi and Nowshera, successfully shooting down all incoming drones, officials said.

Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stated in a social media post that militants belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij backed by the Afghan Taliban, attempted to carry out attacks using small drones in the three districts.

He said Pakistan’s anti-drone systems responded promptly and neutralized all the drones before they could cause major damage. “No loss of life occurred in any of the three incidents, and the situation is fully under control,” the minister said.

Tarar further claimed that the incidents once again exposed the direct links between the Afghan Taliban regime and terrorist activities inside Pakistan.

Meanwhile, in Swabi’s Pabini village, an explosion occurred outside a Government Girls Higher Secondary School, injuring one female student. According to Swabi police officials, the blast was reportedly caused by explosive material dropped by a drone. Authorities said an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Security forces remain on high alert following the attempted attacks.
