Board formed for medical checkup of PTI founder

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – The government has formed a panel to carry out a medical checkup of PTI founder Imran Khan, Dunya News reported here on Saturday.
According to sources, the medical panel includes Dr Amjad and Dr Nadeem Qureshi. The panel of doctors does not include personal physicians of the founder of PTI.
He will be transferred to hospital in light of the recommendation of the medical board. The medical board will also give appropriate instructions for transfer to hospital.
Sources say that a special representative will be involved in the process of shifting the PTI founder to the hospital. The name of a close relative of the PTI founder has been given for the special representative.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has confirmed that the government has decided to shift him to hospital and form a medical board.
He noted that the former premier had been allowed to speak with his sons by telephone. He reiterated that humanitarian considerations, not politics, guide their actions regarding Imran’s medical care.
The PMLN-led federal government has confirmed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan will receive urgent medical treatment for his right eye amid growing concerns over his health in captivity.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said that Imran’s ongoing eye treatment will now be continued at a specialised medical facility under the supervision of top ophthalmologists. He added that a detailed report of the treatment would be submitted to the Supreme Court and urged that speculation and political rhetoric be avoided.
