QUETTA (Dunya News) - Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has expressed strong displeasure over delays in scholarships, gas supply to Sui, and slow progress in local recruitments, declaring that public interest remains the top priority and locals have the first right over their resources.

The remarks came during a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister with PPL management and provincial officials to review progress on agreements signed between the provincial government and the company.

Bugti termed it unfortunate that residents of Sui Town are deprived of gas extracted from their own area.

He noted that women in Sui are still forced to cook on firewood, despite commitments made by PPL under the agreement.

He called delays in scholarships, the son quota, and local hiring unacceptable, particularly objections in recruiting locals for well watchman positions.

The Chief Minister made it clear that no new agreements would be signed until full implementation of the existing deal is ensured.

Bugti directed authorities to immediately fill vacant posts under the son quota with local candidates and warned that alternative options would be considered if tangible progress is not made within the stipulated timeline.

PPL officials assured the meeting that 80 percent of the gas supply work has been completed and pledged to resolve pending matters at the earliest to address public concerns.
