ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited him for a meeting where discussions focused solely on cooperation against terrorism, with no political matters raised.

Speaking to the media, the chief minister said he first condemned recent terrorist incidents in Balochistan and discussed joint efforts to eliminate terrorism.

He added that matters related to NFC share, Net Hydel Profit (NHP), and pending federal dues for the province were also discussed, and the prime minister assigned responsibility to Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal.

Sohail Afridi said both sides agreed on formulating a joint counterterrorism strategy, noting that the KP government has already spent Rs26 billion from its own resources on tribal districts.

He stressed that terrorism has no religion, province, or country and must be condemned collectively by all Pakistanis.

He clarified that there was no discussion regarding the PTI founder or any political issues during the meeting.

Highlighting sacrifices by residents of Tirah Valley and Kurram, he urged restraint in statements that could hurt their sentiments, calling their sacrifices invaluable for Pakistan.

The chief minister said the meeting was part of his constitutional duty as CM, adding that another special meeting on terrorism would be held soon.
