ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a weather alert for several regions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir, warning of potential rain and snowfall over the next 12 hours.

According to the NDMA, rainfall is expected in districts including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Malakand, Khyber, Waziristan, Mansehra, Mohmand, Buner, Haripur, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Sawabi, Karak, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, and Kohat. Snowfall is likely in higher altitude areas.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, rain and snow are anticipated in Gilgit, Astore, Ghizer, Diamer, Skardu, Hunza, and Shigar. In Azad Kashmir, districts including Bagh, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Havelian, Kotli, Bhimber, and Neelum are expected to see rain and snow in elevated areas.

The NDMA has warned that these conditions may lead to slippery roads and disrupt traffic flow. Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel and take precautionary measures. Rescue and road restoration agencies have been placed on high alert to respond to potential emergencies.
