The hearing of the case was conducted by Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo, during which the accused, Falak Javed, was produced before the court.
During the proceedings, the complainant, Azma Bokhari, through her counsel, submitted an application requesting that her statement be recorded at the end of the trial, after the recording of statements of the prosecution witnesses.

However, counsel for the accused, Rana Maroof, opposed the request, arguing that under the law, the complainant’s statement must be recorded first and cannot be deferred until the conclusion of the trial.
He further contended that Azma Bokhari should be summoned on the next hearing for recording of her statement.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court reserved its verdict on the plea filed by the provincial minister.
