LAHORE (Dunya News) – Dense fog and freezing cold continued to disturb life in several cities of the country, with partial flight disruption and closure of motorways, Dunya News reported here on Saturday night.

Thick mist partially impacted flight operation at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore. Several international flights were delayed after hazy weather prevailed in the City.

A PIA flight bound for Madinah faced three hours of delay due to foggy atmosphere. A flight bound for Abu Dhabi was cancelled after fog engulfed Lahore and several districts of Punjab.

Fog blanketed roads in various cities of the country, prompting the authorities concerned to shut motorways at several locations.

Due to reduced visibility, vehicles were prohibited from entering the M2 Motorway from Lahore to Kot Momin, M3 from Faizpur to Darkhana, and M4 from Pindi Bhattian to Multan.

Similarly, vehicles are not allowed to enter M5 Multan to Rohri and M11 Lahore to Sambrial. There are also fog-hit areas on the national highway in Lahore, Manga Mandi, Pattoki, Okara, Sahiwal, and Ahmedpur Sharqia.

Traffic flow was also affected due to heavy fog in Mian Channu, Khanewal, Multan, Basti Maluk, Lodhran, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Sadiqabad.

A spokesperson for the Motorway Police has advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel, saying that it is safer to travel during the day.
