SHIKARPUR (Dunya News) - Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)’s Agha Shehbaz Durrani clinched the PS-9 Shikarpur seat with a huge margin by defeating JUI-F candidate Maulana Rushdullah Shah.

According to the provisional and unofficial results from all 178 polling stations of constituency PS-9, Agha Shehbaz Durrani got 73,954 votes.

JUI-F’s Maulana Rushdullah Shah could get 9,412 votes.

Following Agha Shehbaz Durrani’s victory, celebrations by party workers are ongoing.

Several senior PPP leaders and workers have also reached Kot Durrani to congratulate the winning candidate.

All set for by-election in PS-9 Shikarpur today

It is worth noting that constituency PS-9 Shikarpur has a total of 277,792 registered voters, including 148,310 men and 129,482 women.

The seat fell vacant after the demise of veteran PPP leader Agha Siraj Durrani.

Due to security concerns, 54 polling stations were declared highly sensitive, while 84 were categorized as sensitive.

Sindh Provincial Election Commissioner Ijaz Anwar Chauhan had earlier issued clear directives to all relevant departments to ensure the by-election was conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner.
