Sindh Govt extends Section 144 for another month across province

Ban on all kinds of protests, demonstrations, sit-ins, rallies, and assembly of more than five persons throughout the province has been extended for another month with effect from December 12.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Sindh government on Friday extended the imposition of Section 144 across the province for another month, a notification from the Sindh Home Department stated.
As per the notification, ban on all kinds of protests, demonstrations, sit-ins, rallies, and assembly of more than five persons throughout the province has been extended for another month with effect from December 12.
Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code is a legal provision that empowers district administrations to prohibit an assembly of four or more people in an area for a limited period.
It is pertinent to mention here that Sindh government had imposed Section 144 across the province for a period of one month on October 12 to maintain law and order in the interest of “public and peace”. The Section 144 was then extended for a month on November 12.
