PTI constitutes political committee, notification issued

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday constituted political committee, and the notification in this regard has been issued by PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja.

According to the notification, the political committee consists of 23 members. PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and secretary general Salman Akram Raja have been included in the committee.

PTI’s additional secretary general Firdous Shamim Naqvi, secretary information Sheikh Waqas Akram and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi are also part of the committee.

Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Allama Raja Nasir Abbas and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Mehmood Khan Achakzai have also been included in the committee.

Former leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub and former leader of the opposition in the Senate Shibli Faraz have also been named. Leader of the opposition in the Punjab Assembly Moin Riaz Qureshi is also part of the committee.

Former leader of the opposition in the Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar, overseas international chapter secretary Sajjad Burki, and provincial organizers Aliya Hamza, Junaid Akbar, Haleem Adil, and Dawood Kakar are also named in the committee.

Representatives from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan -- Khalid Khurshid and Sardar Qayyum Niazi -- along with Asad Qaiser and National Assembly Chief Whip Aamir Dogar are also part of the committee.

Fauzia Arshad, women’s wing president Kanwal Shauzab, and minorities wing president Lal Chand Malhi will also serve on the committee.

The committee will become effective with immediate effect (from 12 December) and will determine the policy line for parliamentary wings and assemblies. Further appointments and changes will be made as needed, while sub-committees comprising experienced members will also be formed.
