A new USEFP building has opened in Islamabad, offering modern educational, cultural and entrepreneurship facilities designed to support Pakistan’s future scholars and innovators.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) today marked the continued celebration of its newly inaugurated building in Islamabad, unveiling a modern space dedicated to broadening educational access and supporting future generations of Pakistani scholars.
The centre has been designed to strengthen academic links between Pakistan and the United States while offering resources that encourage learning, innovation and cultural exchange.
The purpose-built structure includes a fully equipped auditorium for seminars and cultural programming, a Lincoln Corner offering free educational resources and public activities, and EducationUSA services for students seeking higher studies in the United States. An outdoor amphitheatre expands the scope of events, creating a lively venue for entrepreneurship fairs, panel discussions and cultural gatherings.
New USEFP headquarters opens as Fulbright Programme celebrates 75 years in Pakistan
Students, civil society representatives, alumni, community partners, digital influencers and media professionals toured the site during the celebrations, exploring the services that aim to shape the institution’s long-term contribution to Pakistan’s education ecosystem. The U.S. Embassy’s Minister Counselor for Public Diplomacy, Andy Halus, led a media tour and emphasised the relevance of the investment. Halus said that education, innovation and entrepreneurship remain central to the enduring friendship between the United States and Pakistan, and that the new space brings these elements together under one roof.
Entrepreneurship activities
The event featured an entrepreneurship fair that convened students, start-up founders and innovators to discuss new avenues for collaboration. An accompanying panel session brought together speakers from the US Embassy, the National Incubation Center Islamabad and the Pakistan-US Alumni Network, focusing on US government support for entrepreneurship, key challenges faced by Pakistani innovators and the wider start-up environment in the country.
Interactive programming
To mark the 75th anniversary of USEFP and the Fulbright programme, the Lincoln Corner hosted an open house for members, university faculty and students. Volunteers from Friends of the Corner conducted activities that highlighted free English-language resources and programmes for Pakistanis aged 16 and above. Demonstrations in the makerspace and creative studio showcased the building’s capacity to serve as a hub for creativity, technology and hands-on learning.
The new USEFP building stands as a visible symbol of the longstanding US-Pakistan partnership, bringing together education, enterprise and cultural engagement in one modern setting. It reflects a shared commitment to supporting Pakistan’s youth and advancing opportunities for development, innovation and progress.
