PESHAWAR (Web Desk) - Unknown assailants opened fire on the house of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Khurram Zeeshan’s in-laws in Hayatabad early Tuesday morning, injuring a household employee.

According to the FIR registered at Tatara Police Station, the incident occurred around 3:30am when attackers targeted a house in Hayatabad Phase-II.

Police said Senator’s brother-in-law Syed Azhar Hussain Bukhari stated that he was present inside the house at the time of the firing. He added that a domestic worker, Abrar Ahmed, was hit by a bullet and suffered injuries.

PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa spokesperson Akram Khattana confirmed the incident and said Senator Khurram Zeeshan was not at the house at the time of the attack.

He said the attackers first tried to persuade the occupants to open the door and, when unsuccessful, started firing.

Senator Khurram Zeeshan has not yet issued a statement on the incident.

Last month, a similar incident was reported when the house of PTI MPA Anwar Zeb Khan in Kharasgan tehsil was allegedly targeted in a quadcopter attack, injuring one of his private security guards.
