Pakistan, Indonesia sign seven MoUs to strengthen bilateral cooperation

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan and Indonesia on Tuesday signed seven Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors.
The signing ceremony was held at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad, in the presence of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. Officials from both sides exchanged documents related to cooperation in education, trade, archives, narcotics control, and public health.
Under one of the key agreements, Pakistan and Indonesia will deepen collaboration in the field of higher education, including academic exchanges and scholarships. A special agreement was signed under the Indonesian Aid Scholarship Programme, enabling Pakistani students to pursue higher studies in Indonesian universities.
In addition, both governments exchanged an MoU to promote the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), aimed at boosting entrepreneurship and economic growth. Agreements were also concluded to preserve and digitise historical documents and archives between the two countries.

Another important area of cooperation was narcotics control, with both sides agreeing to work jointly to prevent drug trafficking. A separate MoU was signed to enhance halal trade and certification, aiming to strengthen the halal industry and facilitate exports.
