ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The federal government has decided to place several Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders on the Exit Control List (ECL) for spreading political unrest in the country.
According to sources, it has been decided to take stern action against the suspects of May 9 riots including PTI founder Imran Khan.
The formal approval has been granted to place the names of several PTI leaders on the Exit Control List (ECL).
The list includes Imran Khan, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Omar Ayub, Fawad Chaudhry, Shibli Faraz, among others.

Moreover, travel bans have also been imposed on several other leaders — including Ali Amin Gandapur, Shehryar Afridi, Usman Dar, Shireen Mazari, Zartaj Gul, Musarrat Cheema, Kanwal Shauzab, Sheikh Rashid, Major(R) Tahir Sadiq, Raja Basharat and Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi.
According to sources, the Punjab Home Department forwarded the list and its recommendations to the federal government, urging that in the context of the May 9 riots the named individuals be placed on the ECL.
The ECL committee had earlier submitted its recommendations to the federal government for formal approval, which has now been granted.
