KARACHI (Dunya News) – Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman says the government made on the basis of Form 47 would not be accepted.
Speaking at 'Meet the press' event at the Karachi Press Club on Monday, he said when his name was announced as the JI emir, he was fighting for the rights of the people of Karachi.
“First the local government elections were rigged and then the general election met the same fate, and the people of Pakistan have not accepted the new government,” he stated.
He said the PML-N had won two-thirds majority in the past but now it had lost its vote bank even in Punjab.
Their politics had met an end as they failed to uphold the constitution, the JI emir said. He said the public issues must be resolved to avoid their wrath.
He urged the chief justice of Pakistan to take stock of manoeuvering in the elections.
